Smaller Dose #9: It's good that you came back for more..... (check out my first smaller dose from October 2019 to learn of the origin of that phrase)
Reading time: 2 minutes
Length: ~450 words
It’s been a while. It’s been two years since my last Smaller Dose. Life is different for me and for all of us. I’m someone who is comfortable with change, provided there is good reason and not change simply for the sake of change. Like most of us, I’m still getting used to so many things which are different in daily life.
Over the last two years I’ve changed employers and I’m in a wonderful place with amazing people, most of whom I’ve never met in person. I’ve presented at a national webinar to nearly 400 people. I’ve submitted an article which will published in a trade journal in July. And I’ve connected with a few really great people.
I continue to polish my craft (the world of process improvement.) I continue to write regularly (but haven’t published.) And I’ve solicited advice on how to become a better writer, from those who I feel are masterful at their craft.
Special thanks to Jared Lindzon who made time for me with no expectations of anything in return. You can find out more about him and his work by checking out his website Jared Lindzon
And now I’m ready to pick-up where I left off. The content that I have created along with the nudges I’ve received from many of you to continue writing, have put me in a place where I’m ready to share once again. More stories about life, leadership and lessons learned.
So here we go…..
I’ve written a story about my friend, Roscoe Brown. It’s a “Larger Dose” around 1,500 words (7 minute reading) and I’ll publish that as Smaller Dose #10 on June 30th. From there, I’ll publish one and occasionally two a month when I have something interesting to share. I’m more interested in sharing something impactful than just sharing on a fixed, repeating schedule.
For now, you can take some time to review previous Smaller Doses. And please consider sharing with others. I want to grow my audience. One way for me to do that is to have you share this and other Smaller Doses with those you think would enjoy reading them.
I wish you all a great summer. Thank you for being part of this journey.
For those of you who don’t know me yet, here is something about me:
Jerry is the author of “Small Doses: Common Sense to Common Practice,” a book which contains 18 thought pieces about the intersection of Process Improvement, Leadership and Life. Jerry has started experimenting with short stories about life experiences (Anchor Points) and the profound lessons that can be learned from before and after those moments.
